A school conversation begins with the existing support process. How do staff notice a concern? Where does the student's perspective enter the record? Who decides the next step? How does the team know whether someone followed up?
An evaluation should define the participating grades, staff responsibilities, appropriate student and family participation, information access, review cadence, and the evidence the school will use to judge usefulness. The scope and readiness of any proposed 90-day evaluation are agreed with the school before work begins.
Teachers should understand what they are being asked to do and how it fits into the school day. Leaders should be able to assess whether the process helps staff follow through without creating unnecessary recordkeeping.
